After a nearly 36 hour journey the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azadi March led by chairman Imran Khan has arrived in Islamabad where a sit-in will be held at Kashmir Highway.
The Azadi March left from Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park, Lahore on Thursday afternoon and arrived at its destination right before midnight Saturday.
On Friday there were clashes between PML-N and PTI workers as the Azadi March passed through Gujranwala. Imran Khan said a mob of 300-400 people aided by the police had attacked his caravan.
Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif ordered strict action against the culprits. Police registered a case against PML-N workers including Pomi Butt the elder brother on a MPA. Pomi Butt and seven other PML-N workers have surrendered to the police.
Following the clashes, Imran left his container and travelled to Islamabad in a bulletproof vehicle.
