There are people who mark things work. They wield enormous power in various capacities. The power could be social, religious, political, technological etc. As the year comes to an end, I bring you the 2016 World Most Powerful People. They have played a huge part in shaping the world events in 2016. The Most powerful persons in our list are released by Forbes.
Since 2009, Forbes has compiled an annual list of the world’s most powerful people. In 2009 there were 67 people on the list, in 2010 there were 68, in 2011 there were 70, and in 2012 there were 71. Slots are allocated based on the amount of human and financial resources that they have sway over, as well as their influence on world events. We shall only bring you the Top 10.

1.Vladimir Putin (64 yrs)
For the fourth consecutive year(2013-16), Forbes ranked Russian President Vladimir Putin as the world’s most powerful person. From the motherland to Syria to the U.S. presidential elections, Russia’s leader continues to get what he wants. The Russian Leader has been truly influential.
2.Donald Trump (70 yrs)
The 70 year-old American president-elect defied all odds to win the presidential election. A business tycoon and real estate mogul, Donald Trump wields enough power both locally and internationally.
3.Angela Merkel (62 yrs)
Angela Merkel is the current Chancellor of Germany. She is the number 1 most powerful woman in the world. She has been a strong backbone of the European Union. Merkel is simply a moulder of policies that controls nations.

4.Xi Jinping (63 Yrs)
Chinese politician who is the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China,[2] President of the People’s Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission. As Xi holds the top offices of the party and the military, in addition to being the head of state through the office of the president, Xi is sometimes referred to as China’s “Paramount Leader”[ and since the formal endorsement during the sixth plenum, is officially called a “core” leader. As the general secretary (de facto leader), Xi is also an ex-officio member of the Politburo Standing Committee, China’s top decision-making body.
5.Pope Francis (80 Yrs)
His real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, a title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, and sovereign of Vatican City. He chose Francis as his papal name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere and the first non-European pope since Syrian Gregory III, who died in 741.
6.Janet Yellen (70 yrs)
Janet is an American economist. She is the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, previously serving as Vice Chair from 2010 to 2014. Previously, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers under President Bill Clinton; and business professor at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

7.Bill Gates (61 yrs)
Gates is an American business magnate, entrepreneur, investor, author, and philanthropist. In 1975, together with Paul Allen, he co-founded Microsoft, which became the world’s largest PC software company. During his career at Microsoft, Gates held the positions of chairman, CEO and chief software architect, and was the largest individual shareholder until May 2014

Larry Page at 43 is the 12th richest person in the world. Lawrence “Larry” Page is an American computer scientist and an Internet entrepreneur who co-founded Google Inc. with Sergey Brin in 1998. Page is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. After stepping aside as Google CEO in August 2001 in favour of Eric Schmidt, he re-assumed the role in April 2011. He announced his intention to step aside a second time in July 2015 to become CEO of Alphabet, under which Google’s assets would be reorganized.

Modi is an Indian politician who is the 14th and current Prime Minister of India, in office since 26 May 2014. Modi, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, and is the Member of Parliament from Varanasi.

To be considered the 10th Most powerful person in the world at the age of 32 is no mean feat. Zuckerberg has truly influenced the world. Through his Facebook platform, he wields enormous power over a great percentage of the world.
