
Anambra News – Currently all sale of gun powder and other explosive materials in all markets in Anambra State has been banned.
Following the information, Governor Willie Obiano gave the directive when he visited a scene of fire incidents at Bright Street Main Market Onitsha.
Chief Obiano while sympathizing with the victims of the fire said only Police permit would regulate where and how such commodity should be stored and sold.
The Governor said government would investigate the fire incident which is said to have emanated from a shop parked with gun powder.
Governor Obiano enjoined traders to always keep fire extinguisher in their shops and expressed joy that the incident was brought under control with the firefighting equipment provided by his administration two months ago.
