  7. Click disable.
  8. If you see a pop up warning that says “Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Do you really want to disable it?” click Yes.
  9. Verify that your touchscreen is disabled.

How To Disable Windows 7 Touchscreen

Disabling a touchscreen in Windows 7 works differently from newer versions of Windows. Instead of disabling the touchscreen in the Device Manager, you need to disable a specific option in the Pen and Touch menu. This menu can be accessed from the Control Panel.

Here’s how to disable a touchscreen in Windows 7:

  1. From the Windows desktop, click the Start
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Click Pen and Touch.
  4. Select the Touch
  5. Uncheck the box next to Use your finger as an input device.
  6. Verify that your touchscreen is disabled.
