FIFA Monthly Ranking | Nigeria Retains 41st Position

The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has released the March rankings. In the FIFA monthly ranking for March, the Nigerian Super Eagles retained 41^st position. This was the same position they were in the February ranking. The number one ranked team is Argentina, while Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium complete the first 5 in the world ranking. It should be recalled that these top 5 teams in the world retained the same rank they had in the February rankings.

The FIFA monthly ranking is based on some FIFA chosen qualifications. The ranking is based on international matches played over a four-year cycle, with more recent results carrying a greater weight than older ones. National teams are assessed and ranked according to their performance in the month under review. This ranking is released monthly.

In Africa, Egypt is ranked 1^st. they however, occupy the 20^th position in the world. Reigning African champions, Cameroon are 3^rd in Africa and 32^nd in the world. Nigeria is 7^th in Africa while being 41^st in the world.
