Former NUJ National president, Mr. Ndagene Akwu is dead

It was a painful news to announce that the  former National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr. Ndagene Ndamele Akwu is dead.   

A statement by the National Secretary of NUJ Shuaibu Usman Leman, says Mr. Akwu died yesterday during a brief illness.

The Statement acknowledged that late Ndagene, who was the President of NUJ between 2006 and 2009 was instrumental to the inauguration of the Federation of African Journalists, FAJ in 2007, in Abuja.

The NUJ prayed God to grant the deceased’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Burial Programme for late Mr. Ndagene will be announced later.
