When going through the list I see the reason why Leonardo DiCaprio was the talk of the event. For the First time in his life and ever since he is always out as a nominee, this is the first time he was announced as the Best Actor, for his work in The Revenant.
When he was called upon for the presentation of this prize, he made speeches that;
“Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work together and stop procrastinating,” he said in the most passionate moment of his speech. “We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters … but who speak for all of humanity.”
And finally concluded by saying he has never taken the Sunday night for granted.
