The We the People platform was established in the month of September, 2011, under the administration of President Obama with the propose that every citizens can communicate with the White House about issues that mattered to them. Using this platform has age restriction from 13 old down to 0-year-old. But creating petitions or signing to a petition is all for free and there are terms and conditions or call it rules  – which ever users most work along-with, or else user’s account may be deleted without a notification.

How to Create The White House Petition Account

1. On your mobile or computer browser navigate to https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/
2. Click on “Create a Petition”. It’s a link that will open the login and signup form

3. Fill the form. The registration form is so simple that only your full name (first name & last name), email address and then prove you are a human by answering a simple question.
4. Then click “Create Account”.
5. You have to visit your email account and finish up your Petitions.whitehouse.gov registration process by clicking the link that will be provided to you in order to validate your email account used for the registration

Now after you have just finished creating this account you may now proceed to create a We the People petition using the steps below.

Please note that TWO things can be done, which is: either you create a new petition or you Sign in to already existing petition that interest you.

Guide on How to Create a New Petition

You have to start by choosing one of the five types of actions that are within the purview of this site, completing the sentence “We the People ask the Administration to…” which will be the header of your petition.

Enter a short  title for the petition. It should be clear, compelling and describe the goal of your petition. Also make sure its 120 characters or less

Also you have to provide a Description which further define the goal of your petition. You have to ensure that the description is 800 characters or less. Include additional information or research to support your request.

Choose Tags  between 1 and 3 tags to help categorize what petitions you are submitting. This will help others better understand how it relates to the issues the administration works on.

Review and Publish: Once published, you will not be able to edit your petitions, so be sure to double-check for spelling, punctuation, grammar, and meaning.

Please note that petitions on the We the People site will be moderated. Some petitions may be removed from the site consistent with the Terms of Participation.

With We the People, you can easily create a petition online, and after you publish your petition, start to share or promote it, and collect signatures. If you gather 100,000 signature in 30 days, The White House reviews and responds to your petition by making sure it gets in front of the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.
