How To Apply For Tax Identification Number (TIN) Online

It’s a truth that the Nigerian government is now going digital to ensure easy and safe application processes, Likewise, the TIN includes.

But there is a bit different here because Individuals are automatically assigned with a TIN based on their BVN (Bank Verification Number) or NIN (National Identity Number).

  2. The registration form to get TIN opens – fill it up then submit
  3. Once you submit the form your request will be verified and approved.
  4. Then TIN Certificate will be sent automatically to the registered email

  • National Identification Number and,
  • BVN

While if you’re standing as a corporate taxpayer, the following are required to verify your TIN;

The corporate Affaire Commission (CAC) Registrated corporate Number or The phone number and Date of Incorporation

Step 1: Visit the Main Website – either https://tinverication.jtb.gov.ng OR https://tin.gov.ng

Step 2: Select your Date of Birth.

Step 3: Select your preferred search criteria from the Select Criteria Dropdown-TIN or NIN or BVN or Registered Phone Number

Step 4: Provide the appropriate value based on the search criteria in Step 2 above

Step 5. Confirm you are not a robot by checking the reCAPTCHA Box

Step 6: Click the Search button

Howto verify TIN for Businesses and Organizations

Step 1: Visit the official website – https://tinverication.jtb.gov.ng OR https://tin.gov.ng

Step 2: Select the Organization’s Date of Incorporation

Step 3: Select your preferred search criteria from the Select Criteria Dropdown-TIN or CAC registration Number or Registered Phone Number. CAC registration number should be typed in this format: BN1234 or IT1234 or RC1234.

Step 4: Provide the appropriate value based on the search criteria in Step 2 above.

Step 5: Confirm you are not a robot by checking the reCAPTCHA Box.

When and where to start using the TIN

You ‘re suppose to use your Tax Identification Number (TIN) to pay your tax so that whenever you pay tax using your TIN it keeps records of your tax payment.
