JAMB UTME REGISTRATION – How to Start & Finish Online JAMB CBT Registration

We have taken our time to comple a step by step JAMB UTME Registration. This page should guide you through from the starting to the finishing point of your online JAMB CBT registration.  It may look voluminious to you, but it’s because we made sure explaining to your understanding and not forgrtting any stone untruned.

Please make sure to take your time to read this page before your start any registration.

 

Before commencing with the full steps to start your JAMB UTME registration there are few things you  should know about, this includes that;

• Online JAMB CBT Registration is NOT done with a mobile phone
• You can’t stay at home to complete the registration
• You MUST have a valid email address and phone number(s) – always reachable and accessible.

We have discussed in details on How to Start & Finish Online JAMB CBT Registration but we are going to take it gradually to the end stage. Below is the breakdown of the steps to register you JAMB CTB exam online without any mistake;

1. Have a personal and Valid Email Account (Preferably a Gmail Account and YahooMail).
2. Create and Update your Jamb Profile.
3. Pay for Jamb E-Pin-Registration.
4. Go to any accredited Jamb CBT Center around you to start the enrollment.
5. Go for 10 Fingers Biometric and Image Capture.
6. Register and Collect Your E-Slip. Also make sure to collect Brochure, Syllabus and Other Materials.

 

How to Start & Finish Online JAMB CBT Registration

Please take your time reading up in order to avoid a mistake. Some mistakes committed might not be able to amend.

STEP 1:  Have a personal and Valid Email Account

This is where MOST people come short. Where they stat making mistakes. Whereas it’s simple and can be avoided now. Creating an email account if FREE and EASY. We have series of articles to open email address so I will not be going deep into this. You only need an email address and password to always access your email account. But one mistake MOST of you does is allowing people registering you to use forge a name and create an email with it, then they asign to your name. This is WRONG! make sure to create your personal email yourself.

Why You Must Use Correct Email for Online JAMB Registration:

• Your JAMB profile which you will be creating shortly (read below to see how to create jamb profile account) requires an email to start and finish your registration.
• It’s going to be your login user ID on Jamb.gov.ng (But the password may defer).
• During your online registration you will confirm your email – so, you see!
• After your registration, you need your email to access and process some jamb task like; paying for e-pin to check result, for online original admission letter, etc.
• If you lost your JAMB profile login password – you get a rest link via email in order to create a new password or access your jamb profile again.
• MUST importantly You can always save your documents like original Admission letter, Original JAMB result, and other important documents. So that you can at any time print them from your email.

Make sure using valid email, wrong email (or email you can’t have access to) during jamb registration may not be changed again!

 

STEP 2: Create and Update your Jamb Profile

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have made creating profile account so important that you can’t do anything if you do not have your login details connected to your profile. This means you can use someone login details to access any information because everyone has his/her info on their JAMB dashboard. It takes nothing creating your own jamb profile account (if you really want to participate in CBT exam).

You need follow 6 steps to have this done. Simply be;

→ Visit the Jamb Official website using this link
→ Close to the Post registration facility, you will see a button to login.
→ Click on login.
→ A new page will open.
→ Click on the create new account button to begin your Jamb profile creation.

Why You Must Create Jamb Profile Account:

• It contains all your data.
• You need to create jamb account to Apply UTME or Direct Entry.
• You need the Jamb profile for Jamb online result checking.
• To Admission status check.
• Admission letter printing.
• Accessing Jamb caps and so on.

But if If you already created Jamb profile in the previous years during the  registration, you don’t have a problem here cos your account will still be active. Expressly proceed to the third step.

STEP 3: Pay for Jamb E-Pin-Registration

Now that you have a valid email address and Jamb profile, what next? Get the E-Pin. Jamb E-Registration Pin can be gotten in many ways. However, I recommend going through any of the procedures below.

• Get E-Pin at Jamb Accredited Banks in Nigeria
• Paying on Jamb portal
• Go to Nigeria Post Office (NIPOST).
• Paying with ATM
• Paying with your phone.

E-PIN PAYMENT THROUGH BANKS INCLUDING MICRO FINANCE BANKS:

ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

 E-PIN PAYMENT THROUGH POS:

This is available at State Offices of JAMB + CBT Centres, other POS outlets and any CBT Centre that demands it

E-PIN PAYMENT THROUGH MOBILE MONEY OPERATORS:

This is available at CBT Centres and Other Outlets

Present Profile Code and pay by cash
ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

E-PIN PAYMENT USING ATM:

This is available on all ATM outlets of Participating Banks listed in 5C(I) (InterSwitch Channel).

Select Bill Payment and then pick JAMB
Enter Profile Code and pay
ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

E-PIN ONLINE PAYMENT ON JAMB PORTAL:

Visit JAMB website: jamb.gov.ng
Click Purchase of 2018 Application Document
Enter your Profile Code
Select payment method (InterSwitch or Remita)
Make payment
ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

E-PIN PAYMENTS USING USSD (NIBSS/ERCAS):

Dial *565*6*55019#
Enter Profile Code
Select bank and follow the prompts to complete payment
ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

Procedure for the eight foreign centres only is as follows:

Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or its equivalent in each of the eight countries

Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centres as indicated on the website.

 

STEP 4: Go To Any Accredited JAMB CBT Center Around You

At this point, you are expected to go to the only JAMB approved CBT centres register your Jamb.

It wasn’t this way before until JAMB made this change and even instructed those approved CBT centres to collect nothing less than N700 for each candidate registration.

Jamb released the list of accredited CBT centres recently. I have compiled the list and made it available to you HERE. You can download and go through them to the decide the most convenient one for you.

At the Accredited Jamb CBT Centre, you will be given a CD containing the following for free:

• e-brochure showing guidelines on admission detailing list of tertiary institutions and available programmes of study.
•  Syllabus (e-syllabus) for the examination.
• Step by step guide to completion of the application form.
• Video messages from the Registrar of JAMB and a demo on how to use eight (8) keys for UTME examination without a mouse.

 

Registration Process At CBT Centres:

i.      Pay NOT more than N700 as Service Charge to the CBT Centre

ii.     Provide Biodata including Date of Birth, Nationality, State of Origin, Local Government, Gender, e-mail address, among others

iii.     Provide choice of institutions and programmes (disciplines)

iv.    Provide qualification with grades and dates, if not awaiting result

v.     Upload relevant certificates, if not awaiting result

vi.    O/L and or A/L grades are to be provided by candidates. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply the results online as soon as they are available on JAMB’s portal. No recommendations from any Institution will be considered by JAMB if the candidate has not supplied his/her result on the portal of JAMB

vii.    Supply JAMB registration number for previous institutional certificates for DE only

viii.   Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for

(a)     Mock examination  (optional)

(b)     Examination for UTME (actual examination)

ix.      Do picture capture (no scanning of passport photograph)

x.      Do Biometric enrolment (ten fingers)

xi.      Review entries and confirm correctness

xii.     Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION

xiii.    Collect, at no other cost, the reading text and CD

xiv.   Each Candidate is to collect his/her e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration

xv.    There will be no offline registration, as all the accredited CBT centres have been empowered for real-time online registration. No candidate should register at any centre other than the accredited CBT centre and JAMB State-Offices. Any candidate who is registered outside approved centres will be identified and disqualified

 

STEP 5:  Go For 10 Fingers Biometric (If Applicable)

Still, at the Registration centre, the four things below will happen:

• Jamb will take all your fingerprint
• Your O-level or A-level result will be submitted.
• You can use awaiting result.
• You can use two sittings. I.e, one awaiting and one complete result or two complete results.

 

STEP 6:  Collection of Your Jamb E-Slip After Online Registration

Make sure to be at the centre to collect your JAMN E-slip. Note; that is what you will you to enter on the exam day. Also collect all other necessary stuff which includes Brochure, Syllabus and Other Materials.

That is all! You have successfully registered. All you need to do now go home and get more ready for the JAMB CBT Exam.

Please Note:

The Board will also conduct a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and familiarise INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during registration.
