DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has partnered with the Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders (IDeAL), KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Program and Strathmore University to offer a scholarship referred to as DAAD In-Country/In-Region PhD Scholarship for East Africa. That is to say, this scholarship is open to all students from the Eastern African countries but to be taken in Kenya

This scholarship is open for a course of study in PhD Health Management. This is not a fully-funded scholarship program. However, it covers full tuition fees, research contribution cost as well as a monthly stipend for all successful applicants. Furthermore, the students will be exposed to general skills training by IDeAL.

To be eligible, you will be a student from any Eastern African country, must have completed your B.Sc and Master’s degree programs and must have been admitted to Strathmore University.

2. Peace & Security Fellowships For African Women (Kenya)

The Peace and Security Fellowships For African Wome is a fully funded fellowship program that is specifically meant for women. The major target of this fellowship is to equip women with more in-depth knowledge of women’s right, gender and development issues. It is hosted and sponsored by the African Leadership Academy, Nairobi, Kenya.

One of the major eligibility statuses for this is that you must already be a graduate with at least a B.Sc or Master’s degree. That is to say, you must be admitted into a PhD program at any university in Kenya. Then, you must also have to provide the following:

  2. A research proposal
  3. Your writing sample
  4. 2 letters of recommendation
  5. application form and supporting documents.

3. University Of Embu Climate Smart Agricultural Intensification (Kenya) Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is offered by the University of Embu, Kenya. It is a scholarship that is focused on research. The research topic must be in the field of Agriculture, soil science, land and water management, integrated soil fertility as well as agriculture resource management.

4. EAC-KFW Scholarships for International Students at Kenyatta University (Kenya)

This scholarship is basically for all students from Eastern Africa. The EAC-KFW scholarship is hosted in Kenya. The primary target for the scholarship is students from Eastern Africa who are impressive academically but are financially unstable to pursue this course.

Please note that this is a master’s degree scholarship program that is hosted at Kenyatta University, Kenya. You must be from the following countries to participate:

  1. Burundi
  2. Rwanda
  3. Kenya
  4. South Sudan
  5. Tanzania, and
  6. Uganda

The acceptable courses of study include Entrepreneurship, Applied Mathematics, Integrate Soil Fertility Management, Crop Protection and Biotechnology. 5. Daystar University International Merit Award (Kenya)

The scholarship is hosted and is taken at the Daystar University, Kenya and it is for all undergraduate studies at any course offered by the university.
