The FIFPro XI is simply the best players (11 players) in a football calendar year. A total of 25,000 professional footballers were asked to select a team of 11 players – one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three attackers – from across the world, and the 55 players with the most votes have now been revealed. This starting XI will be placed in a 4-3-3 formation. The voting gave birth to this List Of FIFPro World XI Nominees 2017.
The List Of FIFPro World XI Nominees 2017 was drawn basically from La Liga, EPL, Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1. Unsurprisingly, no player was drawn from any other league apart from these. Defending La Liga and UEFA Champions League champions, Real Madrid has a whopping 13 representatives. Buffon and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only two players to ever feature in the list of nominees since it’s inception.
The Real Madrid superstar will be gunning to win the Best individual awards for this past season. Lionel Messi, who also features in the List Of FIFPro World XI Nominees 2017, will definitely have a say in that. So, below are on the nominees.
