List Of Talent Shows Program That Stopped Activities For Now In Nigeria

Over the years, a lot of talent shows programs have been held in Nigeria. These talent hunt shows are organised by different people and organisations. We have the gospel talent shows, acting talent shows, singing talent shows etc. But then, a lot of these shows are no longer existing. Either they have been stopped officially or otherwise. We want to point out some of the talent shows program that stopped activities in Nigeria.

The reason we want to look at these talent shows that stopped activities is simply to inform the public. We know that there are many persons who are still waiting and checking on these programs for years. They end up thinking they missed them without knowing they are no longer active. This will help you get clear.

Stopped Talent Shows Programs In Nigeria

Here are some of the talent shows that have stopped operating (for now) in Nigeria.

1. Maltina Dance All

The Maltina Dance All also known as “MDA” is a medium for talented dancing families to showcase their moves in steps from Hip Pop, Jive, Gumboot, Pantomine, Wazobia and Salsa in the chance to become Nigeria’s No.1 Dance Family. This Family Talent Show has gone across the country from Lagos to Benin, Enugu, Ibadan, Abuja and Port Harcourt, in search of dancers who represent the best in Nigeria with fun and excitement. The Maltina dance all team has spread their tentacles across the six geographical zones of the nation, searching for the best talent in dance, along with a supportive and equally good dance family.

For some time now, this dance talent show has not been operational. The last season of this show that held was in 2016 which was the Season 9. There has not been any official statement on when they will restart again.

2. Peak Talent Hunt

The Peak Talent Show is all about giving participants from all over Nigeria the opportunity to showcase any special talent with a good amount of entertainment value which is then broadcast to TV viewers across the country targeted at mothers 22-45 years of families in the ABC1 SEC.

For now, no one knows when the Peak talent hunt will recommence again as Nigerians await their comeback, if they will.

3. Tecno “Own the Stage Karaoke” Contest

The Own The Stage Karaoke by Tecno, is another talent shows program that has ceased operation In Nigeria today. They are searching for talented singers to come and perform Karaoke, for the chance to win it big! ‪#‎OwnTheStage. How It works includes that

  1. Select your favourite track from the Track List. You can listen to the track and read the lyrics.
  2. Record your own karaoke rendition and submit the track via our Submission Form.
  3. The judges will review the entries and select the top recordings. Qualifiers will be notified directly
  4. Qualify through the auditions phase and get the chance to Own the Stage on national TV.

The last time this held was in the 2015/16 season. Nigerians are yet to know when they will return.

4. MTN Project Fame

When was the last time you heard of the MTN porject fame? I bet it’s been upto 3-5 years now right? Well, it is still part of the shows that have stooped in Nigeria.

The Project Fame is basically created to discover young talents, groom them and support them to climb to the top in their music career. MTN ProjectFame is a competition but “More than just a talent competition. MTN PROJECT FAME WEST AFRICA allows viewers a unique opportunity to follow, day by day, the behind the scenes process of 15 aspiring artistes as they are groomed for success in a tough performance academy.


5. Gulder Ultimate Search

The Gulder Ultimate Search is a Nigerian reality television series, created and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc to promote the Gulder Lager Beer. The first season premiered in 2004. The GUS series is also the very first 100% local content reality television programme in Nigeria and it is a survival type reality programme that highlights the struggle of Contestants (10–30 persons, depending on the reference edition), their struggles against themselves and the wild i.e. nature and their search for a hidden treasure that brings to the last person standing instant fame and fortune. The Winner of the last season in 2012 took home a 10 million naira cash prize and an SUV.

Since then till now, we are yet to hear about Gulder ultimate search again. We are sure it’s not coming back again given the distance since when it last held.
