The United State tech giant and World’s most valuable firm, Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone 15 lineup in a fanfare event on Tuesday, September 14, 2023.
The four variants launched include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to information on the Apple website, the most expensive variant of the iPhone 15 Pro Max (1 terabyte model) will cost $1,599. At the current parallel exchange rate of N920/$, the $1,599 price tag translates to N1.47 million to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
It is important to note that apart fro the prices, the variants come with lots of amazing features which make them all stand out from previous editions and other smart phones in the market.
In this article, will shall take you through the 7 amazing features of the new iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max
1. Action Button
The Action Button is one of the most noticiable feature of the iPhone 15. It switches iPhone between ring and vibrate by default, which is vital since it has replaced the ring / vibrate switch that Apple has included on the iPhone since its debut in 2007. You can even feel haptic feedback when you switch between the modes.
2. Model: As with 2022’s iPhone 14 line, there is no “mini” iPhone 15, with Apple once again releasing a 6.1-inch iPhone 15 and a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus. The displays are brighter this year as well, up to 2,000 nits of brightness.
3. USB-C port replaces Lightning: Another unique feature on the iPhone 15 is a new USB-C charging port replaced the old Lightning connector. Apple said the new port will have the ability to charge other Apple devices, like AirPods.
USB-C cables are readily available in the market, and are also used by most modern Android phones. The USB-C connectivity will make it easier for professionals to transfer high-quality video from the iPhone directly onto their hard drives.
4. New Chip: The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus get an A16 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 15 Pro and the Pro Max are powered by the A17 Pro Chip. The hardware on the Pro line makes the devices suitable for high-end mobile gaming, the company said.
Apple touted the A17 Pro as the “fastest chip ever on any smartphone,” and judging by years of speed tests, the company probably is right.
5. Dynamic Island: Also, new features of the iPhone 15 is the expansion of Dynamic Island, the animated feature at the top of the screen that gives contextual information and which debuted last year on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, to the iPhone 15 line.
It’s essentially a secondary display that can be used to view media playback, sports scores, rideshare status and other bits of information without flipping back and forth between apps.
6. Camera Spec: Iphone 15 comes with a Dual camera setup with 48MP main camera and 12MP Ultra-wide sensor. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have an improved main camera with a bigger sensor and the same high 48MP pixel count as before with a 24mm equivalent focal length.
Unlike last year’s model, users can pick a default focal length for whenever the camera app opens, from either 24, 28, or 35mm equivalent options. The new main camera has improved lens coatings and full coverage of Focus Pixels (Apple’s marketing term for phase detection) and sensor shift stabilization as well.
7. Battery: The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models feature the same overall design as the iPhone 14 with flat sides. However, they include tweaks like more rounded edges, and the new Pro models are made with titanium frames. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are barely thicker than their predecessors at 0.32 inches (8.25 mm) and the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are the same thickness as the 14 and 14 Plus at 0.31 inches (7.8 mm).
And with the switch to titanium, the 15 Pro models are 8 to 9% lighter than the 14 Pro devices.
