Finally it is official. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United Manager. Many knew this was already going to happen all these while. It was just a matter of time. After taking over the club from Mourinho, The Norwegian and Old Trafford legend has stabilized the sinking ship and turned the fortune around. He has signed a 3-years contract with the club.
Solskjaer delivered an immediate reversal in fortune, overseeing 14 wins from his 19 games at the helm. That run has included notable victories over Arsenal and Tottenham, along with a stunning Champions League triumph over Paris Saint-Germain. A 3-1 win at Parc des Princes saw United overturn a first-leg deficit in a heavyweight Champions League contest to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United Manager – How It Happen
Since taking over the club, the young coach has been very impressive in getting his team play the “Man United way”. After the Jose Mourinho era had hit the rocks earlier in the season, United’s decision to call upon their former striker in December appeared highly likely to be a temporary solution which would allow executive vice-chair Ed Woodward and the board some time to consider a viable long-term appointment.
But Solskjaer has made the job his own in three short months.

Solskjaer Man United’s Record
Solksjaer has broken some records along the way long before his appointment as full time manager. They include:
1. Most wins from first games as Manchester United manager
The first record Solskjaer set was in January, where he became the first Manchester United manager to win his first six matches in charge, surpassing the five game win record set by Sir Matt Busby.
2. Equals opening win record for specific Premier League club
Manchester United beat Brighton at Old Trafford and Solskjaer levelled a record set by Carlo Ancellotti at Chelsea and Pep Guardiola at Man City by winning his first six matches in charge. The draw at Burnley the following match meant Solskjaer failed to hold the most opening wins outright.
3. Most points won in opening ten matches
He has collected 26 points during that period – surpassing the record held by former Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink. Thanks to the 0-0 draw with Liverpool, Solskjaer collected the most points of any top flight manager in his first 10 games in charge.
4. Beats Sir Alex for away wins
Also, Manchester United’s 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace was the first time the club have won eight consecutive away matches in all competitions.
Congratulations Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United Manager.
