Pakistan lodges protests with Afghanistan over cross border attack

Pakistan has lodged strong protest with Afghanistan over a cross border attack on a Pakistan military post at Nao Top (Bajaur Agency) which came under attack on Saturday by over 200 militants crossing from the Afghan side.

“During the attack, one Pakistani soldier embraced shahadat while two were seriously injured. A protest was lodged with the Afghan Cd’A and the matter was also taken up by our Ambassador in Kabul with the Afghan Foreign Ministry, ” said a statement issued here on Saturday by the Foreign Office.

“To repulse the terrorist attack, Pakistan troops responded with artillery and aviation support. Any allegations about shelling on Afghan civilians inside Afghanistan are incorrect. The Pakistan aviation only fired on attacking terrorists,” the statement noted.
