PAKISTAN NEWS (Karachi): Six killed, 30 injured in Karachi blast

PAKISTAN NEWS (Karachi): At least six people including a woman were killed and 30 injured as a result of a blast in the Delhi Colony area of the city.

The blast took place on Chaudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman road.

Bomb Disposal Squad and police said the bomb was planted on a rickshaw. IG Sindh, Iqbal Mahmood told reporters at the blast site, that 10 kilograms of explosives were used in the remote controlled bomb.

Speaking to the media, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memom said it seemed the target of the attack was the provincial government as three government vehicles were badly damaged in the attack. He called on the federal government to launch an operation against terrorists in the country.

“At first terrorists elements would take responsibility, now they remain silent. Time for dialogue is over, the government should take action,” Memon said.

Provincial Health Minister, Dr Sagheer Ahmed told the media five of the injured were in critical condition.

TV footage showed the boundary wall of an apartment complex in the area was destroyed while ten cars, five rickshaws and several motorcycles were damaged in the blast.

Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the site of the blast and have sealed the area.

The blast was heard in the adjoining areas of Clifton, Gizri and Defence.
