The Parents Consultative Association of Nigerian Universities has called on the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to accept the new package offered to it by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The President of the Association, Mr. Donald Sobara, says the latest offer of two hundred and twenty billion naira over a five years period indicated a renewed commitment by the Federal Government to resolve the strike.
He therefore reminded ASUU to consider the consequences of such prolonged strike on parents and students, especially when the nation’s tertiary institutions were making efforts towards global recognition.
Mr. Sobara expressed the readiness of the Association to collaborate with government and ASUU in finding lasting solutions to the frequent strikes in the nation’s Universities.
Do you think ASUU should accept FG’s offer and call off the strike? Please make your contribution below.
