Didier Deschamps, France Coach, has on Thursday 17th May, 2018 released the France World Cup Squad 2018 for Russia 2018 World Cup. As expected, some big name players were omitted. Some of the omitted players include Anthony Martial (Manchester United), Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal), Dimitri Payet (Olympique Marseille), Adrien Rabiot (PSG) and Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich) also omitted.
Dimitri Payetwas unfortunate to miss out. He got himself injured in the Europa League final against Atletico Madrid. Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny was also not included in the World cup squad. In a twist, Manchester City’s Benjamin Mendy who is just back from injury was selected while club teammate Aymeric Laporte was excluded. So, who made the France World Cup Squad 2018? Midfielders: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Blaise Matuidi (Juventus), Steven N’Zonzi (Sevilla) Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Corentin Tolisso (Bayern Munich)
Forwards: Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Nabil Fekir (Lyon), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Thomas Lemar (Monaco), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Florian Thauvin (Marseille).
There was a plcae for Chelse’a Olivier Giroud and Ngolo Kante while Timoue Bakayoko was unsurprisingly not selected. The foward line was complted by Dembele (Barcelona), Fekir (Lyon), Griezmann (A. Madrid) Mbappe (PSG) and Thauvin (Marseille).

Finally, those who couldn’t make the 23-man squad were placed on the reserve list in the event of any uncertainties.
