How To Set Up VPN On Android & iOS (iPhones & iPads)

These days, it is becoming increasingly important to have a VPN set up on your mobile devices.  There are, of course, many reasons why you should consider using a VPN on your device. In this guide, we will be showing you all the processes it takes to set up VPN on andorid and iOS phones. We will treat them separately to make it easier for you to comprehend.

What Is A VPN?

VPN stands for virtual private network. A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. Applications running, on a computing device e.g. a laptop, desktop, smartphone, across a VPN may therefore benefit from the functionality, security, and management of the private network.

How Does A VPN Work?

In simple terms, we will make this clear to you. Here’s how a VPN works for you, the user. You start the VPN client (software) from your VPN service. This software encrypts your data, even before your Internet Service Provider or the coffee shop WiFi provider sees it. The data then goes to the VPN, and from the VPN server to your online destination — anything from your bank website to a video sharing website to a search engine. The online destination sees your data as coming from the VPN server and its location, and not from your computer and your location.
