The Global Finance Magazine has released the list of richest countries in the world for 2017. The list of the richest countries is surprising topped by little, smaller countries of the world. The Global Finance Magazine adopted a special method to arrive at the ranking of these countries. We will explain them in this Top 30 Richest Countries By GDP-PPP 2017.

The Top 30 Richest Countries By GDP-PPP 2017 according to the GFMag is based on two factors. They include the Gross Domestic Product (GDP- the total value of goods and services produced within each nation) and the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP- which takes into account cost of living and inflation rates).

According to the GFMag “Our tables of the World’s Richest and Poorest Countries for 2016 use IMF data for per capita GDP, adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP). GDP-PPP makes for a better comparison of living standards, because PPP takes into account cost of living and inflation rates, rather than just exchange rates, which may distort the real differences in income”.
