UNIBEN News Update – The Attention of the university has been drawn to the existence of certain facebook accounts. This is to inform the general public that the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Professor O. G. Oshodin does not have and has never opened any facebook account.

Neither did he give any go ahead for a Facebook account to be created on his behalf, or for any one to use his photographs, some even in full Academic Robes. Obviously the person or group of person are imposters and fraudsters and should be stopped forthwith.

The said fraudsters/impostors have devised a means of extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the false pretence of offering them jobs and admissions into various academic programmes and departments of the University of Benin.

One of the impostor who goes by the name ‘Mr Smith’, has his phone number as 08149929619. He is currently asking unsuspecting prospective admission candidates to pay certain amounts of money into his bank account in order to assist them secure admission into the University of Benin.

The public is by this message advised to disregard any offer by this person or persons and to carefully verify any online information from the office of the Registrar, University of Benin or from the prime source of online information on the University of Benin, www.uniben.edu.
