Many of us rejoiced when WhatsApp introduced a feature that allows us to delete sent messages. It has been a very wonderful feature. If you mistakenly sent a message or you sent a message to the wrong person, you can easily delete the message instantly. Right now, you can unsend Facebook messages with this Facebook Unsend Feature.
Sometime in the last year (2018), Mark Zuckerberg used this feature to delete some messages he sent, probably for security reasons. When Facebook users found out, they piled pressure on him to introduce same features to basic users. Today, that Facebook Unsend Feature has been added to Messenger.
So, if you happen to send a message to the wrong person/ or persons, you can easily recall/unsend/delete the message. However, you must do this within 10 minutes of sending.
Which App Does Facebook Unsend Feature Work On
This new feature that allows you to unsend Facebook messages on messenger works across the popular platforms. You can use it on iOS, Windows Phone & Android.
How To Unsend Facebook Messages
Here is your guide.
- From, open a Messenger conversation.
- Tap the message you’d like to remove.
- Tap Remove for Everyone or Remove for You.
- Then, tap Remove.
You can permanently remove a message that you’ve sent for everyone in the chat, or just for yourself. If you select Remove for You, other people in the chat will still see the messages in their chat screen.
If you select Remove for Everyone, people included in the chat won’t be able to see the removed message. Keep in mind that people you sent a message to may have already seen your message and can still report the conversation.
I believe that with this new added feature, security on social media (Facebook) is improved.
