YOBE State : INEC creates special voting centers for IDPs

Special voting centers have been created for Internally Displaced Persons in Yobe State, to enable them participate in the forthcoming general election.

Similar, about seventy five percent of such persons who are mostly from Gulani and Gujba local government areas of the state have received their permanent voter’s cards.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Hau Zarma, made these known during a stakeholders meeting in Damaturu.

Mallam Habu Zarma explained that the special voting centres were situated in Damaturu and Fika where most of the internally displaced persons were currently taking refuge.

He appealed to other eligible voters who are yet to collect their permanent voter’s card, to go their local government headquarters for collection.
