Patoranking’s full name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie. The stage name: Patoranking was given to him by a Jamaican artist whom he met at Alpha Beach in Lagos. He is from Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria. However, he was born in Lagos, Ijegun-Egba precisely. Patrick was born on 27th May, 1990. Academically, he attended Citizen Comprehensive College Epe, and later enrolled at Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School in Iponri. According to him, The following persons have influenced him. They include: Buju Banton, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Lucky Dube, Chaka Demus, Majek Fashek, Blackky, Blackface, Tuface and Marvelous Benjy.

Patoranking’s Music Career Story
Although Patoranking has been into music since 2009 professionally, he actually started long before then. According to him, he began his music career as a street jam and carnival dancer. In 2010, he signed a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga Records. He went further to release the song “Up in D Club” under the outfit. From there, he never looked back.
The song that brought him into limelight was “Girlie O”. This came after he signed a deal with Foston Musik in 2014. The music video for the song was shot and directed in London by Moe Musa. On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced via Instagram that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records. The rest, is history.
In the year 2016 (1st August precisely), Patoranking released his first musical album. The title is “God Over Everything”. Many artistes were featured in the album. They include Phyno, Wizkid, Sarkodie, Olamide, Elephant Man, and Wasiu Ayinde Marshall. In the same year, Patoranking was announced as one of the judges for the maiden edition of the singing competition The Voice Nigeria.
